Even die-hard monarchists must (surely) concede that GSTQ is the most awful dirge, so a petition suggesting a new anthem sent me scurrying off to find the lyrics, melody etc. The suggested anthem is, ahem, 'The Red, White and Blue' by rockers Judas Priest. Can't say that 70's hard rock (except early Zepp, AC/DC etc) is generally my thing, but I was not expecting the song in question to...

Source : The Croydonian (subscribe)

Explore : Artists, Metal, Music

The first video from Nostradamus has been released, and while the song and album are very cool, and very different for Priest, this video is rather lame. It is low grade computer animation and looks quite cheap. Why couldn't they have done something a bit better than this? I would have preferred some sort of performance based video.

Source : Draven99's Musings (subscribe)

Explore : Artists, Cinema, Metal, Music

- ()When I first heard that Judas Priest was basing their next album on the life of , I thought the idea was hilarious. When the laughter ended, it suddenly dawned on me that composing an album…a concept double album…at this stage of their career is an incredibly brave decision. Strange, to be sure, but brave nonetheless. After all, this is a band that has been in existence for thirty...

Source : Glorious Noise (subscribe)

Explore : Artists, Metal, Music

So I picked up the new Judas Priest, Nostradamus, on the way home from work today. Right about now I’m not quite sure what to think of it. Everything I have heard this far is kind of mellow and it sounds as if Rob Halford has lost some range in his voice since Angel [...]

Source : Metal Martyr (subscribe)

Explore : Artists, Metal, Music

- Through good times and bad, and all the fads and trends, Judas Priest has worn its leather and studs like a badge of honor, which is one of the reasons why we love 'em. Add to that the dueling guitars, the riffs from hell and that voice—the extraordinary element that instantly elevates the band to the highest echelons of heavy metal—and it's no wonder why the Priest will always...

Source : IGN (subscribe)

Explore : Artists, Metal, Music, Rock and Pop, Spinal Tap

Judas Priest has remained my favorite heavy metal band for 25+ years now. I was delighted when Rob Halford rejoined the band, but enjoyed the time Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (of Iced Earth) spent with the band. I’ve seen Priest in concert several times and they never disappoint live. While some might argue JP aren’t as heavy [...]

Source : Things That ...
