Good news is one thing I love to spread; Neal Stephenson is coming out with a new book… "Anathem" this September.

While shipping Neal Stephenson's classic, Snow Crash, we decided not to fill all the distributor and large online retailer orders we had on file for the book. Instead, we held back the last 75 or so copies to sell to our direct customers. In the three weeks since the book shipped, we’ve seen that quantity [...]

Source : Subterranean Press (subscribe)

Explore : Authors, Books, Fine Arts

It's not for everyone, but Neal Stephenson's three-volume (nine in some countries) 3000-odd page epic ( Quicksilver, The Confusion, The System of the World ) is a truly titanic achievement. I've just finished reading it for the second time, on this occasion in one great continuous and hugely indulgent splurge. I'm itching to re-read the prequel/sequel Cryptonomicon , which I remember...

Source : Tom Morton's Beatcroft (subscribe)

Explore : Authors, Fine Arts

Betsy surprised me a few days ago with this, which she claims is either a late birthday or early father’s day present: a signed, numbered, limited edition of Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. It's put out by Subterranean Press , and is gorgeous. Subterranean is a press that specialized in high quality printings of limited edition fantasy, scifi, and horror…I want to own nearly everything...

Source : Pattern Recognition (subscribe)

Explore : Authors, Book Publishers, Fine Arts, Publishers, Subterranean Press

I took the afternoon off today to attend a symposium on Science Fiction as a Literary Genre at Gresham College. Aside from being one of my favourite science fiction authors, Neal is also an [...]

Source : Mssv (subscribe)

Explore : Authors, Fine Arts

When you get into the sections where it's just the black ferrofluid, it's either the way Event Horizon was originally supposed to end, or There Will Be Blood as written by Neal Stephenson.
