Congress Acts to Save America's Migratory Birds (YubaNet.com)

The alarming decline of migratory birds has prompted lawmakers to propose an early reauthorization of a successful conservation program, the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act (NMBCA). Representatives Ron Kind (D-WI) and Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD) have introduced H.R. 5756 which reauthorizes NMBCA at a significantly higher funding level to multiply the successes of this program.

Earlier today I took note of Democrat Ron Kind for his opposition to the Farm Bill. Now in the spirit of bipartisanship, I'd like to commend Republican Jim Jordan. Jordan is a freshman Congressman from an agriculture-heavy district. It would have made a lot of political sense to do the easy thing and vote for the pork giveaway to millionaire farmers just like most of the GOP leadership did....
