<title>'Blue Dogs' Embrace Obama (Booker Rising)</title>
      <link>http://www.wikio.com/search/Marion+Ross?rinfoid=68914528</link>
<description>Two Arkansas congressmen today voiced their strongest support to date for Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid, urging the state's delegation to the party's national convention to wholeheartedly support the liberal Illinois Democrat. Rep. Marion Berry (D-Ark.), and Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) had fervently backed Sen. Hillary Clinton's (D-N.Y.) failed presidential bid. They were lukewarm in supporting Sen. Obama after Sen. Clinton's loss. Even as late as last week, Rep. Berry responded with an unenthusiastic "sure" when asked if he would endorse Sen. Obama. Rep. Ross and Berry are both "Blue Dog" Democrats, fiscal conservatives whose ideological views are more in line with Sen. Clinton than Sen. Obama. The presumptive nominee's voting record leans more liberal than the Blue Dogs. But Rep. Berry said Republican policies that cut taxes and increase spending have put the country in a precarious fiscal condition. A Democrat in the White House would help cut the deficit, he said. The Democratic National Convention officially kicks off today at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.</description>
