A quick note on Monday's Full Council meeting. The Mayor of Lewisham updated us on the post office closures. As you may have noticed, the Post Office has ignored local opinion and closed the three threatened post office including that on Hither Green Lane. Lewisham Council is negotiating with the Post Office to see whether some solution could be found similar to that in Essex, but those...

Source : andrewmilton (subscribe)

Explore : AHL Players, Hockey

Brockley's new bins are officially "launched" Following a rather heated debate about the artistic merits of Brockley's new bins, we thought it would be pertinent to post this press release from Lewisham Council about the initiative. Perhaps this will lead to a reappraisal of the project, perhaps not ! But in any case, congratulations to Millie: New recycling bins, made to look like parcels,...

Source : Brockley Central (subscribe)

But his funeral at Lewisham crematorium last week sounds like quite an event, hailed in the Southwark News as 'one of south London's biggest funerals for a generation'.
